For 22 years, Sheridan Mitchell has spent times educating and influencing students who enter her science class. Mitchell is from England, where she earned her bachelor's degree in applied physics and computing science from Manchester Metropolitan University. She later earned a postgraduate certificate in education from Nottingham Trent University. In 2001, she came to the U.S. as a part of a three-year residency that allowed her to gain teaching experience and share her
culture with students and other teachers.
Now, as a permanent resident of Georgia, Mitchell's time is spent cultivating an environment that makes learning enjoyable for all of her students. She currently works as a science teacher and the Gifted Program Chairperson and says that her Christian faith is where her daily mission comes from and keeps her joyful and thankful after 22 years as an educator.
"I believe in the ability of every student to learn to their fullest potential. My role is to inspire, teach, model and serve all students with a heart of love," Mitchell says. "My Christian faith is the foundation that keeps me joyful and thankful, and maintaining a positive work and family balance. I have been teaching for 22 years, and I still find it exhilarating."
